First day at the DLR

This morning I woke up at 7 am. The night before Sheryl prepped me my list of busses and trains to take. With that in hand and my DHL collection slip, I left my room at 7.30am. Bus came quickly and I took it to the main train station. I see that the train to Cologne is 10 mins late. Ok, one full hour later and I arrived at Cologne and went down to the U-Bahn. Fucking auto ticket vending machine-- damn shit not tourist friendly. A German man was though, Kito was his name. Got my day ticket and went to the subway level.

This is interesting. It felt that I went back to the 80s. Its like the British subway where the tracks are in the middle and you can look across to the other side. A tram like subway train came and I boarded it. I took note that the flooring near the doors were a bit shaky. When I reached the next stop, I realised that the floors are abit wrong; the train was a bit higher than the platform. Remember the shaky floors? It sorta transformed into a staircase as the doors opened.

Got to the Escher Street station and walked to my platform. A lady asked for my help in German and I speak no German. Thank goodness I understood what she wanted-- help her get her trolley up the escalator. Ok I reached this DHL huge place. And the freaking entrance is on the opposite side. Walk walk walk. Till I reached the main entrance with an unguarded guard post. Bullshit! Lucky a DHL van came out so the auto doors open and I could slip inside. Also lucky for me the DHL man came out cos his apple dropped out from the window!

"Wo ist der eingang fur pickup?"

He shoots out a stream of shit I do not understand. Then he did english and said he is new there. I manage to find my way to my lovely package: magic juice. Opened it and got my free gift too. Then I made my way to the S-Bahn and took the train to the town where the DLR is. Reached there no probs; went to the bus stand and checked for the time. It wrote that for 11 am; two buses-- one at 11:04 and another at 11:44. I checked my clock-- 11:06 :X

Met my supervisor, Dr. Schneider and everything went well for the day. Except this weird two balls of something I had for lunch. While he was showing me stuff on his computer about the project I will be working on: TEXUS sounding rocket experiment, i saw a World of Warcraft folder! Shit, he IS a gamer!!!

While typing this, Ms. North China just invited me to her home to taste 中国北方鸡 this Saturday. Hmm, I keep thinking that Dr. Zeq has Thai food to eat. Sigh, should i go? ;P

Ok dinner time for now. Btw, he plays a mage. :)
